Mike Kristens 1960 Karmann Ghia known as "The Twins" is the centre piece of the CBB Racing Team.

The Chassis & Body was imported from Porto Rico. After a good look the Chassis was Modified to meet the standards of ANDRA and the CBB Team. The chassis had been designed for a Naturally aspirated engine configuration and needed some modifications to suit Mikes desired power plant. The body also under went some changes as the entire rear piece was rebuilt, and a new one piece front end was constructed, both from fibreglass.

The 2.8 lt engine conguration with 2 Autorotor superchargers running on methanol relies on a 4 speed Mendeola Transaxle to apply the power to the ground. The 30" x 9" Rear Tyres still take some punishment as can be seen by Mikes 4th gear burnouts. 

To date "The Twins" has still been testing to find and eliminate the bugs and weaker points of the car. The 2nd gear launch and shifting issues to 3rd Gear in the video below, which still managed to produce one of the fastest 1/8th mile passes by a vw in Australia, shows Mike and "The Twins" potential to be the pinnacle of Volkswagen Drag Racing world wide.
